Locate the OBDII Port
The OBDII port is typically located under the steering dashboard, near the driver's seat. It looks like this:
Use ChatGPT to find the specific location for your vehicle’s make, model, and year. In most cars, it’s visible, but in some cases, you might need to remove a panel to access it.
Connect the Device
- Plug the tracker into the vehicle's OBDII port.
- If the device protrudes, use the provided extension cable to position and securely hide the tracker within the lower dashboard area.
- Tidy up any loose cables using Velcro ties if necessary.
- Start the vehicle. At this point, the device will begin sending data to our BONNET services.
- Email tracking@bonnet.co.nz with the below information for each vehicle and he will open up the tracking page for you.

Safety Notes
- Ensure the tracker installation does not interfere with driving.
- If the vehicle undergoes maintenance or servicing, inform the service team about the OBD device to avoid accidental disconnection or damage.
