How do I install and link up my GPS tracker

Inside the box you've been sent, you’ll find the GPS OBD tracking units you ordered from us. Below are instructions on how to install these into your vehicles yourself.

Installation Guide

Locate the OBDII Port

The OBDII port is typically located under the steering dashboard, near the driver's seat. It looks like this:

Use ChatGPT to find the specific location for your vehicle’s make, model, and year. In most cars, it’s visible, but in some cases, you might need to remove a panel to access it.

Connect the Device

1. Plug the tracker into the vehicle's OBDII port.
2. If the device protrudes, use the provided extension cable to position and securely hide the tracker within the lower dashboard area.
3. Tidy up any loose cables using Velcro ties if necessary.
4. Start the vehicle. At this point, the device will begin sending data to our BONNET services.
5. Email tracking@bonnet.co.nz  with the below information for each vehicle and he will open up the tracking page for you.

Safety Notes

1. Ensure the tracker installation does not interfere with driving.
2. If the vehicle undergoes maintenance or servicing, inform the service team about the OBD device to avoid accidental disconnection or damage.
